- Outlining Pen: A 0.3mm to 0.5mm black archival fineliner (Sakura Pigma Micron or Uni Pin).

Step-by-Step Visual Guide ๐

Draw the Top Notched Petal
Start near the top of your drawing area by sketching an upside-down U curve with a subtle central notch or indent at the crown. This creates the signature shape of a sakura petal.
Add Side Petals and Lower Base
Extend two side “arm” petals curving outwards from the top U shape, then complete the blossom with two downward “leg” petals meeting at the bottom.
Draw Inner Dividing Lines
Sketch 3 clean crease lines radiating outward from the flower center to clearly define and separate the three lower petals.
Add Filaments and Anthers
At the center where the crease lines meet, draw 4 delicate stem lines (filaments) pointing in different directions, finishing each tip with a tiny open circle (the anthers).
Give Your Blossom a Kawaii Face
In the upper center petal area, ink two happy round black eyes and draw a tiny curved smile nestled right between them for instant cuteness!
Sketch the Smaller Companion Flower
Tucked behind the lower-right petal, sketch a smaller 5-petal cherry blossom. Add 5 interior dividing lines to define each little petal.
Add Foliage Leaves and Final Touches
Add 5 delicate filaments and circular anthers to the small flower. Then draw three gentle pointed leaves around the flowers to frame the entire bouquet.
Artist Pro-Tip for Cute Results ๐ก
Fill the main smiling flower with a very soft, milky sakura pink (like pastel cherry blossom watercolor). For contrast, color the smaller blossom in a richer coral-rose hue. Fill the leaves with pale mint green, and use a soft blush pink pen to add circular rosy cheeks just below each eye!
